In the chapter “I Do”, the author uses the format of comparison and progress at the same time to express the views from Nicolette and PETA. The parts of “She Knows Better” and “He Knows Better” compose a comparison. PETA considers the eating animals in the aspects of environment, food crisis and animal rights. Nicolette stands on his own life and considers meat eating is nature, but the food industries should develop to minimize disruption. And then, the author proposes a progress, the part of “Do We Know Better”. He summarize the two strategies for current animal agriculture system from the last two parts, one is animal rights and the other one is the animal welfare. In the final, he don’t give his own decision for both views, he just mention one point, no matter what view is correct, the problem of eating animals should be considered in the large scale of the whole society, not in individual or family. In the chapter “Storytelling”, eating animals becomes to an ethics problem again. From “The American Table” to “The Global Table”, the author expresses that eating animals is already a worldwide problem and one nation’s decision and change may affect the other countries since we are living in a same planet. And standing on the side of economics, the factory farm should be ended for its unsustainable.
